ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Multiple people escaped from a burning rowhouse in the area of Alameda Street and Dewey Avenue early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters got the first calls before 3:30 a.m. and saw someone trapped on the roof of the porch. They worked quickly to save them.

Five other people were able to evacuate from the burning structure. The Rochester Fire Department called in support due to the size of the building.

Two people and a dog were treated on scene for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
