GLOCESTER – There’s might not be a lot of season left for the Ponaganset girls soccer team, but they’re going to make the most of it.

And if what happened Tuesday happens in their last two regular-season games, the Chieftains might be playing more games than they think.

Nine teams in Division II will qualify for the postseason and while seven seem locked in, the final two spots are going to be decided this week. Ponaganset is the longshot of the three, but Tuesday’s 8-1 win over North Smithfield kept their playoff hopes alive and showed just how dangerous this team could be if it gets there.
