In what could be an Eastern Conference Finals preview, the Cavaliers will begin the 2025-26 NBA regular season on Oct. 22 against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

The Cavs are coming off their second-best regular season in franchise history. The Cavs went 64-18 and earned the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs during coach Kenny Atkinson's first season in Cleveland .

However, the Cavs were bounced from the second round by the Indiana Pacers , suffering a 4-1 series defeat in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinals .

Will the 2025-26 Cavs use the disappointment of last season as fuel and get over the Round 2 hump? Or will they continue to fizzle when it matters most and fail to meet expecations again?
