It feels like the cost of living crisis has lasted an age. Although inflation has fallen closer to ‘normal levels’, the height of the crisis saw prices rising at rates not seen in decades while wages struggled to keep up. So is the cost of living crisis over, and will prices ever come down?
Inflation stayed at 3.8% in the year to September 2025 for the third month in a row – and still above the Bank of England’s target inflation rate of 2%.
