SADDLE RIVER, N.J. (PIX11) – A coyote ambushed a person in the second coyote attack in New Jersey this week, according to officials.

Officials said a Saddle River resident working on their yard on Oak Road was knocked to the ground and bitten multiple times by an “aggressive” coyote.

The animal was “visibly sick” and had “no fear of humans,” according to officials. Officials said the coyote was euthanized by animal control officers and taken for testing.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to officials. It’s not confirmed if the animal had rabies.

Another coyote attacked a housekeeper and a dog in Woodcliff Lake on Monday. That animal evaded capture, according to officials.
