LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville began "Raise Some L," its annual day of giving, at 6:02 p.m. Tuesday.

The celebration of Cardinal pride and generosity runs for 1,798 minutes, a nod to the UofL's founding year, 1798.

Alexis Allen, UofL director of annual giving, said it's a giving tradition that has been going on for the past 11 years.

“One of the biggest things is the support that we need to continue hosting our future and current Cardinals," Allen said. "We want to keep that up, and the support that we get for our scholarships, the support we get for our student affairs, for students to want to continue to come to UofL, that's a big portion of this."
