Morrisons has become the latest supermarket to announce a major change to its stores. As of next year, it will begin rolling out new electronic shelf edge labels (ESLs). ‌

The new smart tech will be utilised to help free up store colleagues' time by simplifying store operations, allowing them to spend more time on helping meet customers' needs in store. ‌

Set to be rolled out in 2026 in partnership with VusionGroup, the ESLs will be implemented across all of Morrisons' 497 branches across the UK, marking the first time a supermarket has introduced the digital labels across its entire estate. ‌

It comes after the likes of Sainsbury's , Asda and Co-op began also began trialling their own ESLs in select stores across the UK this year.
