The situation heated up during the game when referees ignored Kevin Durant’s costly timeout call. However, the defending champion pulled it off smartly, aided by their key player, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s all-around excellence.

Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 35 points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks. Chet Holmgren also contributed with 28 points and helped the Thunder beat the Rockets. Despite their struggle in shooting, the Thunder forced 21 turnovers to stay in the game.
