Amid the speculations about leadership change in Karnataka, CM Siddaramaiah's son, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, said on Wednesday that his father is in the final phase of his political career and he should become a 'mentor' to his cabinet colleague Satish Jarkiholi.

At an event in Belagavi, MLC Yathindra said, "My father needs a leader with a strong ideology and progressive mindset, whom he can mentor. Jarkiholi is such a person who can uphold the ideology of the Congress party and effectively lead the party."
