BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) - The Beaufort County school board voted Tuesday to officially buy weapon detection systems for the six county high schools
The unanimous vote also allows for armed security guards to be stationed at schools to help man the detectors.
"When visitors come to the campus or if students are tardy, anybody coming through the campus will enter through the front entrance of the campus and will pass through these security measures," Beaufort County School Superintendent Dr Frank Rodriguez explained. "And there'll be an armed security guard that'll be there as part of this this program we're launching."
