A Hyderabad civil court has safeguarded veteran actor Konidela Chiranjeevi's personality and publicity rights, granting an ad-interim injunction against more than 30 online entities.

The order restrains them from using the Telugu legend's name, image, voice, or likeness for any commercial or personal gain without his consent.

The order, delivered by Chief Judge S Sasidhar Reddy on September 26, followed the actor's complaint that several online platforms were misusing his identity for promotions and sales through merchandise, advertisements, and digital content.

The court observed, "The plaintiff's claim to his personality rights is based on a body of jurisprudence laid down by the High Courts."
