A plea for more community empowerment to challenge planning proposals for battery storage units in and around West Dunbartonshire has been issued by a local councillor.
Councillor William Rooney will present a motion to full counci l next week detailing the “growing concerns” over industrial developments which could negatively impact the health and well-being of residents as well green spaces like the neighbouring Kilpatrick Hills.
It comes after the council’s planning department opposed a new battery storage facility situated near Clydebank made up of 108 battery units and 135 power converters.
The Scottish Government received 315 representations in connection with the proposal. Of those 25 were in support while 290 are in objection.
