Good Shepherd is launching a new computer literacy program to help seniors navigate the online world.
The program — supported by funding from the federal government’s New Horizon for Seniors grant — is a counterweight to online scams and the barriers seniors can face when traversing the World Wide Web.
“The project will help seniors become more confident in accessing services and government benefits online, communicating virtually with family and friends. It will also foster seniors’ volunteerism and mentoring, by providing education, and preventing financial abuse,” said Christine Wong, Good Shepherd’s seniors at risk program manager, in a news release.
