The Artesian Water Company has announced a boil water advisory for the town of Port Deposit in Cecil County.
The company announced that due to a loss of positive pressure in a portion of the water system that a precautionary boil water advisory has been issued. This is effecting customers using the Port Deposit water system and they are recommended to boil all water used for cooking, teeth brushing, making ice, and drinking until further notice.
Artesian advises customers to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute in order to make it safe for consumption. After boiling, allow the water to cool before use and any ice made withing the last 24 hours should not be consumed or used for drinking. The water can be used for bathing and washing without boiling.
