SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A town in eastern Salt Lake County has reached new heights after being honored with a street name by a Korean city.

"Cottonwood Heights-ro" stretches over a kilometer through Yeonsu-gu near the University of Utah Asia Campus in Incheon, Korea. The honorary road was named after the Utah city to symbolize its friendship between the sister cities.

"The University of Utah Asia Campus is that bridge between Cottonwood Heights and Yeonsu-gu," said Cottonwood Heights Mayor Mike Weichers.

On Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, Mayor Weichers, along with Councilman Matt Holton, visited the campus where they met with students and faculty. Cottonwood Heights city planners are part of a collaboration with students at the campus to design real-world urban design projects.
