Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after a 38-year-old man was killed in a Niagara police-involved shooting in Niagara Falls early Wednesday morning.
The deceased was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman in a Brampton parking lot Tuesday afternoon and was the subject of an Amber Alert on a missing one-year-old child.
On Tuesday evening, Niagara Regional Police and Peel Regional Police were looking for the man after investigators had reason to believe the suspect was in Niagara.
At one point in the evening, police issued a shelter-in-place order for the Prospect Road and Ridgeway Road area in Crystal Beach after evidence related to the investigation was discovered. The order was lifted after further evidence indicated he had left.
