Boston Bruins star forward Morgan Geekie believes he wouldn’t be anywhere near the player he is without Brad Marchand.

Geekie got to play with Marchand for parts of two seasons, as he signed a two-year, $4 million contract with the Bruins in 2023. In his first two seasons with Boston, Geekie set his career-high in points with 39, and then the following year, had 57.

Following Marchand’s return to Boston on Tuesday, Geekie raved about the forward and the impact he had on his career.

“He had a profound impact on how I handled myself last year, at the start of the year, and where I am as a player now,” Geekie said , as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “So just his confidence in me will stick with me for the rest of my career.
