A person who was shot at a local gun range Tuesday has died from their injuries, according to Killeen police.

In an email Wednesday, Ofelia Miramontez, a spokesperson for the Killeen Police Department, said the preliminary investigation revealed that the incident at The Gun Range — an indoor shooting range on South Fort Hood Street — was self-inflicted.

The person was rushed by helicopter to Baylor, Scott and White Medical Center in Temple by helicopter after police were dispatched to the shooting range about 6 p.m. At the time, police would only say the person was suffering from severe injuries.

The person’s name and age was not released.
