President Donald Trump nominated Thomas Govan and former State Sen. Phil Williams as U.S. Attorneys for Alabama on Wednesday.

The nominations now require approval by the U.S. Senate.

Govan was nominated as the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama. He currently works in the Alabama Attorney General's Office and unsuccessfully ran for the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals in 2024.

Williams was nominated as the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama. He is the host of "Rightside Radio" and managing member of Williams, Driskill, Huffstutler & King, LLC, a law firm based in Gadsden.
