CHARLOTTE — As the Panthers continue to stack wins, the awards continue to roll in. The latest honors punter Sam Martin , who was named the NFC special teams player of the week for Week 7, the leagued announced on Wednesday.

Martin punted six times for 276 yards in the Panthers' 13-6 win over the Jets on Sunday, with a long of 68-yards. He landed four of those punts inside the 20-yard line.

The two punts that weren't inside the 20 still landed at the 21-yard line and 28-yard line. One punt was downed, one went out of bounds, two were fair-caught, and two returned, for a total of 14 yards (average 7 yards per return).

Overall this season, Martin has 23 punts, averaging 47 yards per punt, and tied for fifth in the NFC with 10 landing inside the 20.
