FRANKFORT, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky First Lady Britainy Beshear led a ceremony Wednesday morning recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month. She was joined by State Representative Samara Heavrin and advocates from ZeroV and OASIS.
The event included a special tribute honoring Kentuckians who lost their lives to intimate partner homicide over the past year.
During the ceremony, the Governor’s proclamation designating October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month was also presented.
The event took place at the Capitol Education Center in Frankfort and was livestreamed on the ZeroV Facebook page.
