NEW CUMBERLAND — The Hancock County Health Department, 850 N. Chester St., New Cumberland, W.Va., is offering a coupon good for the Hepatitis A vaccine 2-dose series. There are no fees when mentioning the coupon. Those getting the vaccine must be a West Virginia resident with no insurance, 19 years or older and never been vaccinated for Hepatitis A.

The coupon expires Dec. 31.

Hepatitis A is a highly contagious liver infection caused by the hepatitis A virus. The virus is one of several types of hepatitis viruses that cause liver inflammation and affect one’s liver’s ability to function.

One is most likely to get hepatitis A from contaminated food or water or from close contact with a person or object that’s infected.
