NEW YORK — Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and activist investor Jana Partners are part of a group making a play to shake up Six Flags.

Jana Partners announced this week that the firm, Kelce, consumer executive Glenn Murphy, and technology executive Dave Habiger collectively own about a 9% stake in the formerly Arlington-based Six Flags Entertainment Corp.

Jana said in a statement that they plan "to engage" with the company's board of directors and management regarding opportunities to "enhance shareholder value and improve the guest experience."
