EastEnders legend Gillian Wright has opened up about her sister’s ‘decline’ amid her battle with a ‘wicked disease’.

The 65-year-old actress is best known for playing the role of Jean Slater on the BBC soap since back in 2004, a role which saw her win Best Female Dramatic Performance at the 2019 British Soap Awards.

It’s been a difficult period for Jean, who learned earlier in the year that her partner Harvey Monroe was having an affair with Cathy Beale.

On top of this, Jean was left heartbroken earlier in the month when her daughter Stacey Slater left Albert Square with her grandchildren Hope and Arthur.
