ARLINGTON, Wis. (WMTV) - Two drivers were killed Tuesday in a Columbia County crash, the Sheriff’s Office reports.

Multiple 911 callers reported a crash around 3 p.m. Tuesday on WIBU Road near Kampen Road, in the Town of Arlington.

The callers said they saw one of the vehicles on fire, and said people were trapped inside of the vehicles.

Deputies determined a 40-year-old Poynette man driving a Toyota sedan southbound on the road was left of the center lane when he collided with a Ford SUV nearly head-on. A 47-year-old Poynette man was driving the SUV.

The Sheriff’s Office said both vehicles were going up a hill at the time of a crash.
