A teacher in Miami Lakes accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior with a minor in another state was arrested on Tuesday, records showed.
Jordan Hawk, 26, has an active warrant out of North Carolina and is charged with indecent liberties with a minor, Miami-Dade jail records showed.
During her court appearance on Wednesday, Hawk waived extradition, which means she will be transferred to North Carolina within 30 days.
If authorities in North Carolina do not pick up Hawk within those 30 days, she will be released from jail in Miami.
According to an arrest report, Hawk is a teacher at Miami Lakes K-8 Center, and had an active warrant from Kannapolis Police since Oct. 17.
