A Fort Wayne man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder after he reportedly exchanged gunfire with officers during a standoff in Wabash County, Indiana State Police said today.

The Wabash County Prosecutor's Office Tuesday filed several charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, criminal recklessness and pointing a firearm at another. Jacob S. Slocum, 37, has also been charged with two counts of a sentencing enhancement for using a gun to commit the crimes.

Officers were executing a search and arrest warrants on Dec. 3, 2024, at a home near Wayne Street and Indiana 13 in North Manchester.
