(NewsNation) — “Boston Blue” co-creators are defending their decision to recast a character that appeared in “Blue Bloods.”

Earlier this year, CBS announced that Mika Amonsen would be playing Sean Reagan, replacing actor Andrew Terraciano.

Amonsen made his debut on the series premiere on Friday, Oct. 17.

The creators, Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis, spoke to TV Insider on their decision to recast the character for the "Blue Bloods" spinoff.

“We wanted a slightly different version of Sean.
