CPD’s Traffic Safety Unit arrest man in connection with September hit

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police’s Traffic Safety Unit has arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run incident that happened in September, said officers.

Officers said, the hit-and-run incident happened on September 25, at the intersection of Harden, and Laurel Streets.

19-year-old Kian Mitchum is accused of failing to yield the right of way, striking a male pedestrian, and leaving the scene.

The victim has since been treated, and released from a hospital.

Mitchum is charged with hit & run, failure to obey a traffic control device, and failure to give information and render aid.
