Police are hunting an early-morning raider who fled after a woman was awoken and raised the alarm.

The break-in took place off Hunslet Road in Burntwood, near Lichfield , at around 2.30am on Tuesday, October 7.

The intruder escaped empty-handed after she dialled 999.

Staffordshire Police said it also received multiple reports of a group of three to five men acting suspiciously in the area between 2.15am and 5.30am on Friday, October 17.

They were said to have been on foot and were not believed to have had a vehicle.
