PORTLAND, Ore. — No National Guard troops will be deployed to Portland through at least Friday of this week.
A hearing has been scheduled for Friday to discuss dissolving the second temporary restraining order blocking all National Guard troops, including Oregon’s, from being deployed to Portland.
This is one of two legal battles surrounding the National Guard.
A federal appeals court is deciding whether to hold an “en banc” hearing. That hearing will decide if the court should revisit a ruling made by a three-judge panel in the 9th District Court.
The ruling cleared the way for the deployment of Oregon National Guardsmen in Portland.
If approved, an “en banc” hearing would involve an 11-judge panel deciding whether to overturn that decision.
