The incident happened on Oct. 16, when 49-year-old Corning resident Aimee Henson provided a false identity after being arrested for shoplifting at an Oroville store, OPD said.

According to police, Henson used a driver's license that belonged to a deceased person and maintained the false identity throughout the investigation with responding officers.

Records were later located during a joint investigation proving Henson's true identity. Henson was a former roommate of the deceased individual, OPD revealed. Store surveillance footage also supported the identity
