AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - After more than a month on the loose, a convicted murderer has been captured, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Stacy Huggins reported to 4337 Wilson Road in Hephzibah, which is his assigned work site, on Sept. 4, and left on foot.
According to Richmond County inmate bookings, Huggins was booked on Wednesday and charged with escape.
Officials say he was arrested on the 3200 block of Peach Orchard Road before being transported to the detention center.
Huggins was convicted of a 1990 murder in Fulton County, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections.
