CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A CMS coach was arrested in South Carolina on Wednesday, accused of shooting into an occupied property, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say.
York County deputies worked alongside CMPD to arrest 27-year-old Dia'Mond Tyrie Johnson in Clover. He faces two counts of shooting into occupied property.
Johnson was transferred to the custody of the York County Sheriff's Office, where he awaits extradition back to Charlotte. Queen City News is working to learn more about where the alleged shooting happened.
Johnson was a CMS non-faculty member coach. We've reached out to CMS to confirm his employment with the school district.
Police assure that the shooting occurred off school property and did not involve any students, teachers or faculty.
