FRISCO, Texas – On Sunday, Cowboys running back Javonte Williams will play his first game in Denver as a visitor.
Williams spent the first four seasons of his NFL career as a Bronco, after the team selected him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of North Carolina. In his rookie season, he would go for over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and seven total touchdowns. In year two, he suffered a devasting knee injury with tears to his ACL, LCL and PLC.
While Williams was able to recover fully and return to the field, things weren't quite the same over the course of the next two years. When his contract came up following the 2024 season, the two sides mutually agreed to part ways. As he gets ready to return, he holds no hard feelings for his former team.
