GREENSBORO, N.C. — With early voting underway, Guilford County election officials say only about 10% of registered voters turned out for the municipal primary earlier this month.

WFMY’s Kristina Dillon hit the streets of downtown Greensboro with a whiteboard and one question: Did you vote?

Most people she spoke with said no. A few said they planned to. One early voter said she made it a priority because she has kids and wants a say in their future. Another voter said they planned to vote, and it’s about “being involved in the community” and “having a say in what’s going on, or at least feeling like you do.”

One young woman said she voted early because she doesn’t see enough young professionals voting, even though they’re the most impacted.
