President Donald Trump’s approval rating slightly grew, a recent poll shows, even though Americans are blaming the Republican Party for the federal government shutdown .
A poll, conducted by Reuters/Ipsos over six days and completed on Monday, shows that Trump’s new approval rating stands at 42%, which is a 2% increase from earlier this month.
Since April, the president’s approval rating averaged between 40% and 44% within the poll.
These ratings were conducted while Americans are casting blame on the Republican Party over the government shutdown.
Half of the respondents blamed the Republican Party, followed by the Democratic Party at 43%. Seven percent did not answer the question.
