A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Tuesday morning on Louisiana 41 near Pearl River in St. Tammany Parish, the Louisiana State Police said.

An unknown vehicle was traveling on La. 41 south of Louisiana 36 when it struck James Gros in the roadway before 3 a.m. and left the scene, State Police said in a press release Wednesday.

Gros, 32, of Pearl River, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the crash is currently under investigation.

Investigators are trying to determine the make, model and driver of the suspected vehicle, the press release said, and State Police urged anyone with information about the crash to contact them at (985) 893-6250.
