New York Jets backup Tyrod Taylor is dealing with an injury amid speculation that he could replace Justin Fields as the team's starter moving forward.

Head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed that Taylor was among the players who were "day to day" with a knee injury during his press conference on Wednesday (October 22). Glenn's confirmation came hours after Jets owner Woody Johnson seemed to defend the first-year coach while hinting at a preferred quarterback change during the NFL fall meeting in New York on Tuesday (October 21) via ESPN .

Johnson said the decision was "completely up to" Glenn, who sources reported was leaning toward benching Fields for backup Taylor and praised the head coach for "turning around parts" of the team.
