BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

A crash involving at least two vehicles caused some traffic backups during Wednesday afternoon rush hour.

The collision happened just after 4 p.m. on Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard South near Vulcan Road.

The Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service said one person was injured and taken to a hospital.

One pickup truck appeared to have front end damage from the crash.

At least two northbound lanes were blocked and one southbound lane was also blocked as police and first responders worked to clear the scene.
