SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)— State-issued inflation refund checks are still arriving in mailboxes across Central New York, but some say cashing them has been anything but simple. Many viewers have been reaching out to NewsChannel 9 with multiple specific questions.

After hearing your concerns, NewsChannel 9 went back to the New York State Taxation and Finance Department to get you some clear answers.

The State says if a refund check was issued jointly, for example, to a taxpayer and a deceased spouse, the surviving spouse may still be able to deposit or cash it at their bank.
