A Halloween display on Whitney Avenue is drawing plenty of attention this week — not just for its elaborate setup, but for what some call a controversial theme.

The home, well-known in the neighborhood for going all-out during holidays throughout the year, has transformed its front yard into what the owners call an “Asylum for the Criminally Insane.” The display includes hanging bodies, mock police guards in towers, and strips of barbed wire — imagery that some residents say goes too far.
