A teen was sent to a trauma center in critical condition after crashing with a transit van in Novato, police said.

On Tuesday, authorities said they responded to a report of a collision near Cambridge Street at Sunset Court at 5:40 p.m.

Police said a 14-year-old boy riding an e-motorcycle south on Cambridge Street struck a Ford transit van driving east from Sunset Court.

According to officials, the teenager sustained significant injuries and was transported to a local trauma center, where he remains in critical condition.

Authorities said the cause of the crash is under investigation, but they ask homeowners around the area to check their surveillance cameras to see if they have any recording of this incident. They also ask anyone who witnessed the collision to contact the Traffic Unit
