SPRINGFIELD — A new tourism initiative is encouraging everyone to go out to their favorite Springfield landmark — and snap a selfie there.
The “Springfield Selfie Treasure Map,” proposed by City Councilor Sean Curran, invites visitors to the city to take selfies at key city landmarks such as the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, Forest Park, MGM Springfield, Symphony Hall, the Springfield Quadrangle, the Duryea Way automotive landmark Stearns Square Mural and Riverfront Park.
“The Selfie Treasure Map is an exciting, grassroots way to highlight Springfield’s historic and cultural gems,” said Curran, who serves as the chair of the Economic Development Committee, in a statement. “It’s a fun way for families, visitors, and residents
