CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - “What qualifies as a foreign-made film?” Jake Daniels, the owner of Mediaverse Studios in Margeno, said.

Daniels has a lot of questions about President Trump’s threatened 100% tariffs on films made outside the United States.

“My biggest concern with these tariffs is that we’re not going to be getting movies made in other countries coming to America that have historically had a profound impact on our ideas, our culture, and our own movies that we make here,” Daniels said.

Trump said the tariffs will bring more film production back to the U.S.

Daniels said studios have been filming overseas for years because it’s cheaper. He said tariffs would ultimately affect consumers.
