Grand Canyon National Park reduced water conservation measures and fire restrictions at the South Rim on Friday, Oct. 17, following successful repairs to water-pumping and storage systems.
With the switch from Stage 3 to Stage 2 water conservation measures, the Camper Services building at Mather Campground is once again open for showers and laundry. Ongoing conservation efforts include the use of reclaimed water for landscaping maintenance and encouraging all visitors to take shorter showers, reduce toilet flushing and turn off faucets while brushing teeth or shaving.
