One cast member from the Harry Potter films has shown a lot of support for Tom Felton as he reprises Draco Malfoy for Broadway's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child . Felton first gained fame as Malfoy in the first Harry Potter movie , which was released in 2001, with seven more films following over the next decade.

When Harry Potter and the Cursed Child debuted in the West End and on Broadway, none of the stars from the movies reprised their roles. The stage productions featured brand-new casts to the Harry Potter franchise.
