Australian Rugby League commission chair Peter V’landys has declared US President Donald Trump will be at the NRL’s Las Vegas season launch extravaganza next year.

For the past two years, the NRL has kicked its season off in the entertainment capital of the world with two blockbuster games before the rest of the competition plays in Round 1 the following week back home.

The NRL extended an invite to both Trump and UFC boss Dana White last year, but neither attended the season opener.

V’landys told Sunrise on Thursday morning that next year will be different.

“I reckon we’re short-priced favourites to get him there next year,” V’landys said.
