YORKTON – The Brayden Ottenbreit Memorial Fund is accepting applications.

The fund offers schools and organizations in the Yorkton area a chance to receive funding to support literacy.

The fund, established by the Kinsmen Club of Yorkton, was created in memory of five-year-old Brayden Ottenbreit who passed away from the cancer in February 2000.

In the days following his passing, the Ottenbreit family asked those attending his funeral to donate books in his honour.

Since then, the fund has helped local schools, daycares and community organizations purchased books and literacy materials.

Applications for the 2025 fund are open until Friday, October 31.
