MAINE, USA — United Way says a routing issue continues to affect some Mainers trying to reach 211, but not everyone is impacted.

The organization said Wednesday the problem appears to be limited to certain wireless customers, mostly those using Verizon.

The 211 service connects people to local resources for crises, housing, jobs, substance use, and other needs.

As a workaround, United Way says people can call 866-811-5695 or text their ZIP code to 898-211 for assistance.
